Prior to this season, the two sides hadn’t played each other since the 2002-2003 season in what was then known as Division Two – still the third tier of the Football League.
Mansfield won the game at Barnsley 1-0 thanks to Andy White’s winner, whilst the Tykes got revenge in Mansfield with a 1-0 victory, Brian O’Callaghan’s header the difference.
