The Stags twice trailed to goals from Bevis Mugabi and Francois Zoko, but a brace from sub Angol and a penalty from Kane Hemmings secured a vital three points.

Mugabi put the home side ahead in the first half, with Angol levelling just minutes after coming on at half-time, bundling the ball over the line.

A Zoko penalty restored Yeovil’s lead, but Mansfield weren’t to be denied – now within three points of Coventry and Lincoln City in the play-off spots.

Angol’s shot was handled to win the spot-kick converted by Hemmings before the former struck the winner on 76 minutes as he curled in a free-kick from 20 yards.

Yeovil ended the game with 10 men as Omar Sowunmi was sent off in ten minutes of stoppage time.

Mansfield boss David Flitcroft made one change, with Jacob Mellis replacing CJ Hamilton in midfield and the visitors made a bright start.

On five minutes the Stags came close to an opening goal, with defender Paul Digby heading a Mal Benning corner into the side-netting.

But on 18 minutes it was Yeovil who took the lead and Mansfield will be disappointed with the manner of the goal conceded.

Otis Khan delivered a corner to the near post and Glovers defender Mugabi outjumped keeper Conrad Logan to head in and make it 1-0.

Mansfield then struggled to create chances to draw level, with Rhys Bennett flagged offside when he wasted their best opportunity by shooting over the crossbar.

Boss Flitcroft showed his displeasure with the Stags’ first half display as he hauled off Alfie Potter for Hamilton.

He made an immediate impact with his lively presence on the left wing, but the visitors headed in a goal down at half-time and deservedly so, prior to their superb fightback.
