Rampant Clipstone too good for Worsbrough

An enigmatic performance by Clipstone saw them comfortably beat Worsbrough 5-1 to extend their impressive run in the league.

The game started out a bright affair with both sides creating chances in the opening couple of minutes,

Clipstone keeper Ed Eley did really well to prevent Worsbrough taking an early lead on two minutes.

It was only going to be a matter of time before the opening goal, and it came on nine minutes.

Kristian Watson smashed home his first goal for the club after good work from Kieran Watson and Steve Carty..

Clipstone were rampant from then on. They doubled their lead on 14 minutes after a Kieran Watson corner was punched out by Jared Oxley in the Worsbrough goal only to find Carl Snowden 25 yards out who fired home with style.

Clipstone had the bull by the horns and it wasnt long before it was 3-0.

A delightful passage of play saw the ball end up at the feet of Kristian Watson to grab his second of the game and Clipstone’s third on 27 minutes.

Worsbrough did get a goaal back on 30 mins from the penalty spot.

Chris White converted from 12 yards out after he had initially won the penalty.

The second half began as a much tighter affair with both sides cancelling out the other

With 58 mins gone Clipstone made the first substitution of the game with Nathan Millington replacing two goal hero Kristian Watson.

Just four minutes after that Rob Paling took a free kick from just inside the Clipstone half, drilling it high to the Worsbrough area.

Visiting defender James Young flicked the ball with his head and beat his own keeper in the top corner of the net securing the fourth goal for Clipstone on 62 minutes.

Just two minutes later Chris Baugh won a tackle just on the half way line.

He carried the ball 35 yards beating off two challengers and blasting the ball hard and low into the bottom of the goal to make it 5-1 to the home side.
