Rainworth’s FA Cup hopes remain alive, after battling back to draw 2-2 with Bottesford Town.
Rainworth had the first attack when Lewis Chambers broke down the right, but his cross was too near the keeper.
And it was Rainworth who took the lead in the 23rd minute when Chambers found Lewis Bingham, Herrick could only parry the shot and Liam Theakstone was on hand to open the scoring.
Three minutes later and a move to grace any match as Theakstone’s delightful ball was met on the volley by Bingham and Herrick was given no chance for Once again Rainworth conceded at the start of the second half as Pembleton’s cross was converted by Wayne Graves to bring Bottesford back into the match.
In the 83rd minute Bottesford got their deserved equaliser as Ryan Short was on hand to drive his effort into the corner.
In injury time Rainworth almost create a chance but Sam Dockwray’s pass found Theakstone, but he was unable to get any power into his effort and it was easily saved, necessitating a replay at Kirklington Road on Tuesday evening.
