The funeral of Johnny Miller is applauded past Mansfield FC's ground

The former Stags winger, who died in February at the age of 65, made more than 100 appearances for the club between 1976 and 1980.

Miller was a popular player and was part of the Mansfield Town team that won the Third Division title in 1977.

Prior to his arrival in North Nottinghamshire, Miller spent six years at Ipswich, his hometown club, before winning promotion to the First Division with Norwich City in 1976, amidst a two season spell.

He ended his professional football career at Port Vale and was a taxi driver in Mansfield in his later years.

“The club sends our sincere sympathies to Johnny’s family at this sad time,” said Mansfield Town chairman John Radford at the time. “The part in which he played during our promotion to the Second Division will never be forgotten.”
