The Cobras are strapped for cash and hope the initiative will see fans pay more than the usual going rate.

And season-ticket holders at Mansfield, Notts County, Chesterfield and Nottingham Forest will also be able to watch games free of charge this season as the club look to boost interest.

A club spokesman said: “Like many local clubs we have missed the much needed income from having spectators attending games, however we know lots of people and businesses are struggling to make ends meet during this difficult time and that everyone has been missing their local football fix.

“There are no catches, literally pay what you like (even if it’s £0) we would be delighted to see you.

“All Stags, Notts County, Chesterfield and Notts Forest season ticket holders will get free entry all season this year as we are keen to welcome our local football fans a great opportunity to watch some excellent non league footy when their team is playing away.

“We have an exciting young squad for the season ahead and look forward to see you all at the Lido ground very soon.

“All social distancing measures are in place to ensure we can get back to enjoying our foot in a safe environment.”
