Otis Khan leaves Mansfield Town for Newport

Attacking midfielder Otis Khan left Mansfield Town for Newport County on loan on Friday evening – the third Stags player to depart the One Call Stadium late on transfer deadline day.

Khan followed striker Andy Cook and midfielder Jacob Mellis, who left earlier in the evening.

Manager Graham Coughlan said: “Otis wanted to get out and play first team football.

“He was finding it frustrating at Mansfield and wanted to try and rekindle his career.

“He’s had a frustrating season and wanted to finish the campaign with games under his belt.”

The 24-year-old will not be eligible to play for County against Mansfield when the two teams meet at One Call Stadium in mid-February.
