Opta supercomputer's latest predicted finishes for Mansfield Town, Leicester City, Luton Town, Sheffield Wednesday and rest of League One

We can expect to see plenty of changes in League One forecasts as this competitive season continues to unveil its surprises.

Mansfield Town moved up to ninth in the table thanks to their impressive back-to-back wins on the road last week.

A 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon followed by 4-1 against Blackpool puts Stags on 18 points and extends their unbeaten run to six games. Ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, Mansfield are just two points outside the top six and could well break into that bracket over the coming weeks if their form continues.

Stags players have not shied away from talking about their desire to compete for a place in the top six this season. There are plenty of clubs who also see promotion and a play-off run as their main mission, but who will win this closely contested battle at the end of the season?

We’ve taken a look at the latest League One predicted table simulated by the Opta supercomputer model. There have been some significant changes since the pre-season results, including Plymouth Argyle dropping from predicted champions down to fifth, and Leicester City plummeting from fourth to tenth. Here’s how the end of the season is forecast to look in the latest update.
