Winter is currently enjoying the down-time from football and taking trips to memory lane by watching some classic games from a bygone era.

And he admits he is isn’t missing the on-field action just yet.

“Leading up to the games being cancelled, I was very frustrated with football,” he said.

“All of the usual stuff like player availability and some poor results such as the game at home against Brigg.

“If I’m honest, I haven’t missed it. I’ve missed being around the lads and the club in general but I’m not missing the actual football.

“I wasn’t looking forward to the fixture pile up we had coming our way and I’d about had my fill of officials.

“I’m missing football on the TV, but have enjoyed being able to catch up with some classic games from back in the day.”

Winter also praised NCEL officials for their work in helping clubs offset some of the financial support aids.

The measures, which will benefit each club by an average of £909, include not charging their annual subscription, supplying free footballs and not charging the annual £50 for matchday inspections.

“I’d like to say a big well done though to the NCEL,” he said. I feel like what they’ve done for their member clubs is pretty good and I’d now love to see the FA follow suit and look refunding fines and dismissing any suspensions.

“Again, there is a counter argument as if we want money back from the FA, are they within their rights to ask for FA Cup and FA Vase money back? That’s a debate for another day.
