Notts County have signed international trio Laura Bassett, Alex Greenwood and Jess Sigsworth.

Central defender Bassett has put pen to paper on a three year deal after leaving Chelsea Ladies, where she had spent the 2014 FA WSL season.

After starting her career at Coventry City, the England international moved to Birmingham City, where she spent eight seasons before moving for a two year spell at Arsenal Ladies.

A short-term stint at Leeds United followed before Laura moved back to Birmingham City for her second spell with the midlands club. The defender spent the first three years of the FA WSL with the blues before moving to Chelsea Ladies for the 2014 season.

Since making her England debut against Italy in 2003, Laura has gone on to collect 43 caps for her country, netting two goals.

Notts County have also captured the signature of international full-back Alex Greenwood.

Alex joined the Everton Ladies Centre of Excellence at the age of eight, progressing through the age groups and into the first team squad, making her senior debut in 2010.

After representing her country at various youth levels, Alex’s impressive performances earned her a call up to the senior England squad for the 2014 Cyprus Cup where she made her debut, going on to make six appearances in her career so far.

The Lady Pies’ hat-trick of signings is completed with young forward Jess Sigsworth.

The attacker joins from her hometown club Doncaster Rovers Belles, who she joined in 2011 from Sheffield United Academy at the age of 16.

The forward notched eight goals for the FA WSL 2 side last year as they finished second in the league, just missing out on promotion.

Jess has an impressive international pedigree, having worked her way up through the England youth levels including playing all three games for England at the U20’s World Cup in 2014. The 20 year-old also made her debut for the England U23 side, in 2014, at the age of 19.

It follows yesterday’s signing of England attacker Rachel Williams as County look to improve on their lowly FA WSL1 finish last season.
