He said: “The performance on Saturday has given us a foundation to build on.

“It’s nothing more than that. It’s important whether we win, lose or draw that we don’t swing either way in terms of emotions.

“It’s trying to keep control, so I was pleased with the players’ application and their intent.

“It’s a reasonable foundation for us to build upon with an excellent result and a clean sheet.

“I was looking for a positive reaction from the players having come in and new managers normally get it.

“But for the players to take the information on board and grow as the game went on, and have belief and confidence too, was important for this week and next.

“You’ve got to keep an even keel and concentrate on the next game.”

In terms of the January transfer window, with over a week still left to go Fullarton is refusing to rule out any further action.

He added: “I’m still assessing the squad that we have, so we are working towards that and coming to some decisions.

“I’m not really going anywhere with the January window at the moment.

“Obviously I want to fully establish what we have in the building hence with Blair Adams coming back in.

“We’ve got to do that before making any decisions on ins and outs.”
