NOTTS COUNTY: Fullarton salutes outgoing Magpies' owner Ray Trew

Notts County boss Jamie Fullarton has paid tribute to Ray Trew, after the Magpies' owner signalled his intention to sell the club.

Trew announced on Thursday to fans in an open letter that he had “mixed emotions” of leaving having re-evaluated his position “in light of recent events”.

Reacting to the news in his pre-match press conference, Fullarton said: “Obviously it came as a surprise.

“Over a period of time what Ray has done for the club, I don’t think I could say it any better than what his statement was yesterday.

“I think his integrity and authenticity shone through.”

With regards to on-the-pitch matters, Fullarton insists all the focus is on stopping the rot after two successive losses.

County make the long trip to second-placed Plymouth on Saturday.

He added: “We’re focused on the next game and the opportunity to gain three points against a team that is second in the league.”
