NOTTS COUNTY BLOG: Worst performance in 60 years!

Notts County supporter John Wilmott gives his opinion after his side lost 2-0 at Salford City in the FA Cup first round last week.

In a match described by many County supporters as embarrassing, unbelievable and totally unacceptable, the Magpies were beaten by non-league Salford.

Notts were completely out played by a side of part-timers, of which one was due at work an hour after the match.

But that is not half of the story.

They were slow and lethargic in their play.

Fifty per cent of their passes went astray, there was no plan to their game and they failed to mark their opponents when defending.

It seemed like a Sunday afternoon stroll in the park.

In fact it was the worst performance I have witnessed in six decades of watching the team perform.

The most concerning issue was that the manager seemed to lose the dressing room, with the players not responding to any instructions made by the boss.

This performance will tarnish the side considerably as supporters are saying the players did not seem to want to put any sort of effort into playing for Notts County - the oldest League Club in the land.

This has been a very up-and-down season so far, and the facts are the last performance will be hard to stomach for the Magpies fans.
