NOTTM FOREST: Freedman bemoans fine margins

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman feels his side aren’t getting the rub of the green.

Freedman made the admission after watching his side stumble to a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield on Thursday, only after Emyr Huws’ late, deflected effort earned a share of the spoils for the hosts.

Freedman, whose side are tenth in the Championship ahead of the weekend round of games, says that fine margins are denying his side the points they deserve.

“At this moment, we are not getting the points we deserve from our performances,” said Freedman.

“I am pleased with the effort, the players are getting behind each other as a group.

“We are talking about fine margins, when you look at hitting the post and not scoring penalties.

“But as a coach I feel as though we are on the right track.

“We just aren’t getting the points that our performances deserve.

“As long as we continue what we are doing, we will get the points we deserve in the long run.

“We have hit the post, we have not scored when we were one-on-one with the keeper – on another day we would have come away as convincing winners.

“When you look at our performances, they are very good right now and we need to keep it up.”

Forest’s next clash is at home to Hull on October 3.
