NOTTINGHAM FOREST: Stamina key to busy period of games, says Dougie Freedman

Freedman’s troops head to Wolves tonight before a quickfire turnaround and another away day at Blackburn on Monday.

Forest have hit form lately, winning three of their last four outings and Freedman wants that to continue at Molineux in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

He said: “It is very intense. It’s the recovery period people don’t quite get. It’s game after game.

“We’ve got ourselves into a decent position, we’ve won a few games of late and things are bubbling along.

“It’s a very happy camp.

“We need to make sure we maintain that with a strong enough team and strong enough individuals to help that team to keep on this winning streak and the momentum it’s given us.”

Freedman expects tonight’s test to be a tough encounter and that he has plenty of respect for Wolves’ supremo Kenny Jackett.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for Kenny. He’s one of those people I look up to,” he added.

“When I first got the Crystal Palace job I was on the phone to him, even though he was the Millwall manager.

“We touched base on certain things.

“He’s certainly been very good to me in my career.

“Wolves have got a lot of strengths.

“The way they play, they get the ball wide, they want to get crosses in and get the ball in the box, they want to get numbers in the box.

“But, the way we’re playing, if we can implement the plan that’s been put in place this week then it’s a game I think we can win, especially with where we’re at right now.”
