AFC Mansfield booked their place in the semi-finals of The NCEL Challenge Cup with a hard fought 1-0 victory against Staveley MW on Wednesday night.
A goal from Craig Mitchell four minutes into the second half was all that separated these two sides.
The Bulls had a penalty shout turned down on seven minutes when Joe Naylor was caught on the shins in the box.

But Jahmal Smith fired the spot kick wide of the keeper’s right hand post and the scores remained level.

Grant Allott went close five minutes later after picking up the loose ball from a Ghaichem corner. He then turned in the box, but Hernandez did well to turn his effort over the bar.
Staveley had a good period of play around the 75 minute mark when they forced three corners in a row with Mark Dudley having to head one inswinging effort off the line.
Joe Naylor fired over the bar on 80 minutes after linking up well with Ghaichem and Ward on the right flank.
