Teversal were beaten 1-0 by Selby Town on Saturday as their survival campaign suffered another blow.
Teversal had hoped to build on Dean Short’s first point in the midweek 1-1 draw with Winterton Rangers when Sean Dickinson cancelled out a first half Luke Anderson effort.
The game at The Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium saw Selby dominate the game, but some solid defending and an inspirational performance in goal by Neil West kept Teversal in the game.
After only three minutes the pattern of the game was set when Hopes played a well weighted ball in behind the visitors defence for Craig Muirhead.
He clipped an effort towards the far post, but West managed to dive backwards to tip the dipping effort over the bar.
The game turned into a bit of a midfield slog with both Keepers forced into routine saves, which saw an excellent triple save by West midway through the first period.
The home side’s frustrations were starting to show as the game went on and thought they had taken the lead when they came out quickly in the second period when West pulled off another superb save to deny Day.
The inspired West then acrobatically saved Chamberlian’s header on 51 minutes.
But the pressure finally told on 58 minutes when Chris Jackson finally found a finish good enough to beat West.
Teversal were left frustrated on 72 minutes when they were denied what they saw as a blatant penalty when Short was impeded by Turnbull.
In the dying minutes West finished the game as he started it, with another stunning save denying Forrester. who unleashed a great strike that was equally matched by the quality of the save from West and the game finished 1-0 to the host.
The Tevie Boys next game is on Saturday 11th April when they travel to Hallam in the league.
