Hucknall Rolls Leisure closed the gap at the top of the Precision NSL Senior Division to two points with a 3-0 away win at Sandhurst.
The bottom club’s task was never going to be easy against second placed Rolls and so it proved as Jack Matthews got his second goal of the season, top scorer Andy Start took his tally to 24 for the campaign and Reece Jackson netted on his first appearance following his move from Linby Colliery Welfare Reserves.
In Division One Southwell City Reserves shared six goals with Hucknall Rolls Leisure Reserves at Watnall Road.
Matt Rick bagged a brace and Adam Tolley, with his first of the season, grabbed the goals for Rolls, the replies coming from Chris Bowles, captain Michael Knight on his return to the side, and Ant Barrowcliffe. Rolls stay 11th in the table.
The day’s biggest winners were Nottinghamshire Reserves as they overcame Sandhurst Reserves 6-1 at Grassington Road in Division Two. Cliff Thomas scored a hat-trick, Liam Trout, Lewis Margeson, with his second in as many games, and sub Conner Boulton did the damage. Brandon Rock netted Sandhurst’s consolation and they remain 10th.
