Ollerton Town were made to work hard for their three points at Walesby Lane, with the game in doubt until Ashley Fleet’s late winner.
It was almost against the run of play, when Ollerton took a 35th minute lead.
A fierce Nathan Brown shot from an acute angle was handled by Josh Copeland, leaving Sam Holmes to fire past Mike Teale from the penalty spot.
In response Copeland forced Shaun Taylor into a fine save following his free kick. The visitors didn’t let their heads drop though, and grabbed a deserved equaliser five minutes from the interval.
Lee Winterman picked out Ash Hunter at the far post, who finished with his head from close range.
In the second half Ollerton had to endure some nervy moments as Bentley continued to press, and Taylor had to make several vital saves.
But just when it looked as if Bentley Colliery had done enough for the draw, Ollerton’s skipper Craig Stanton unselfishly set up Fleet for a cool finish to make it 2- l.
Ollerton Town are at home against Harworth Colliery tonight (Tuesday 23rd October, 7.45pm).
