Former Thoresby boss becomes Clipstone Welfare’s new manager

Clipstone Welfare have announced that ex-Thoresby manager, Lee Tryner has become their new manager ahead of the clubs first ever season at Northern Counties East League level.

Tryner (44) guided local rivals Thoresby to a runners-up spot in the Central Midlands Supreme North League last season and he now takes over from ex-Stag Gary Castledine at the Lido Ground.

Also joining Tryner at Clipstone this season are former Glapwell, Shirebrook and Blidworth coach Chris Bullock, who will become the clubs new Assistant Manager with Nick Shaw and Simon Hennessy joining Clipstone’s first team set-up in a coaching capacity.

Clipstone’s reserve team also get a new look, with Scott Simpson taking charge and working closely alongside Tryner.

Clipstone have wasted no time in building this seasons squad and have already announced no fewer than 18 new signings, which include some of the successful Thoresby team of last season, along with a host of familiar faces to the Lido Ground, each of them bringing plenty of experience both at local and at non-league level.

Clipstone kick off there pre-season with away trips to Sherwood Colliery and Radford and they will play the first home pre-season fixture on 24th July against Blidworth, with kick-off being at 7.45pm.
