Teversal FC stalwart Keith Parnill was honoured with two major awards at the Nottinghamshire FA hosted their annual awards evening, sponsored by Sportsguard and Replay Maintenance at the Village Hotel in Chilwell.
The event is held to recognise and rewarding the achievements, dedication and efforts of people who have made an important contribution to football in Nottinghamshire during the last 12 months.
All the nominees have been nominated by their peers, colleagues and friends, who have witnessed the contribution made by these people, and who wish for them to be recognised for their efforts.
Teversal FC had two nominees for the evening in the FA Community Awards section - Keith Parnill the club’s youth section secretary and webmaster amongst many other duties for the club, was nominated for Volunteer Of The Year and Kevin Newton, the football secretary, but like Keith undertakes many other tasks, was nominated for the Outstanding Contributions to Grassroots Football category.
Keith not only picked up one award from Andre Marriner FA Premier League and UEFA Referee but went on to pick up a second, following the Notts FA Volunteer Of The Year Award, but to add to the County honour with the East Midlands Regional Winner too, making it a very special night for the Tevie Stalwart.
Keithsaid; “It was an honour and surprise to pick these two awards up.”
An example of Keith’s dedication the morning after collecting the awards, saw him back down at Teversal’s Carnarvon Street ground painting, before travelling to Nottingham to collect additional trophies for the successful youth teams.
Kev Newton received a certificate of honour for his nomination, saying: “To be on a nomination list with the people nominated is a pure honour and the whole evening makes you realise how lucky we are in this county with the amount of effort put in to running football”.
