Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has received another huge boost to his plans for the 2013/14 season with highly-rated left-back Connor Franklin penning a new one-year contract to stay with the Reds.
A talented full-back who likes to get forward, Franklin (25) was once again one of the most consistent performers for Alfreton last season as they claimed a highest-ever league placing in securing a third successive Conference Premier Division campaign.
A former England C International, Franklin is now heading into his fourth season with the Reds, having moved to the Impact Arena for an undisclosed four-figure fee from Hinckley United in August 2010.
Former Leicester City apprentice Franklin passed the 100 appearances mark for the club last season and it is that sort of continuity throughout the majority of the squad which has paid major dividends for manager Law, who has also been blessed with having several long-serving players at the club at the same time over the last six years.
Alfreton have announced two more home pre-season games against Football League opposition.
Gary Rowett’s Burton Albion side, who lost out in the npower League Two play-offs recently, will visit the Impact Arena on Saturday, 13th July (3pm) and Dean Smith’s Walsall, who finished ninth in npower League One last season, are the visitors on Tuesday, 16th July (7.45pm).
Meanwhile, Alfreton fans are reminded that there are six weeks left to the end of the Early Bird Season Ticket deadline.
These are available up to 30th June and are priced at £289 for adults, £194 for concessions (over-65s and under-16s), £150 for a 10-match ticket, with concessions paying £100 for the ten-match option.
After the deadline, season tickets increase to £310 for adults, £206 for concessions and £160 for a ten-match ticket, £110 for 10-match concessions.
Fans paying £18 individually for each game at the turnstile would pay a total of £414 for 23 league games. By purchasing a season ticket at the discounted price of £289 before June 30, that works out at just £12.56 per league game.
After the early bird deadline, the price per individual game would work out at only £13.47 for an adult.
Season tickets, 10-match tickets and Junior Reds applications can be ordered and paid for by credit card by contacting Lisa Towerzey on 01159 392090 extension 107 between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm Monday to Friday.
Payment can also be made by cheque to ATFC Season Tickets, Impact Marketing and Publicity Limited, Media House, 116-118 Derby Road, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, NG9 7AD.
