“They have a lot of experience and have only lost two games all season so it was going to be a battle.

“The wind and conditions did not help the game, it did not do us any favours in the first half.

“Once we let one in it becomes two and three so we have to manage the game better.”

Clipstone will hope for a change of fortune when they host Barton Town in the next game,.

And Widdowson knows he will have to work hard on team spirit.

“We are going to get the group together, we don’t want to lose the group, we want to stay together,” he said.

“We are going to try and get the spirits up because two heavy defeats disheartens the players, but we have to just move forward.”
