Clay Cross too good for Blidworth Welfare

Clay Cross Town returned to league action with a 5-2 won over Blidworth Welfare.

The Millers made no less than six new additions to their squad and two of the debutants scored on the day.

It was Ryan Ordidge who opened the scoring with an opportunist free-kick from 50 yards midway through the first half.

After the break, new boy Danny Fullwood scored in his opening four minutes for the club.

This was shortly followed by an excellent Tomas Poole strike.

Danny Fullwood then scored his second and this was followed by a goal from fellow debutant, Josh Pickering.

A penalty for the hosts taken by Keenan Leeds reduced the arrears and the final goal of the day came from Blidworth’s Brendan Williams.
