AFC Mansfield unveil Micky Taylor as the club’s first ever manager


NEWLY-formed AFC Mansfield have unveiled former Shirebrook boss Micky Taylor as the club’s new manager.

The club have been formed by former Stags directors Steve Hymas, Darren Bland and Andy Saunders after they resigned from the Mansfield Town board.

Taylor will bring his former Shirebrook Town backroom staff with him as he prepares to guide AFC Mansfield through their first season in the Central Midlands Football League.

The club, who will play at Forest Town welfare, will play their inaugural friendly v Rainworth Welfare on Saturday 14th July at Kirklington Road (Kick off 3pm)

Further friendlies will follow against Clipstone Welfare (away) on Saturday 21st July (3pm), Pinxton FC (away) on 24th July (7.30pm), Clay Cross Town (away) Saturday 28th July (3pm) and South Normanton (away) Wednesday 1st August (7.30pm).

AFC Mansfield is now in the process of building a team for the coming season.
