AFC Mansfield produced another professional performance to complete their sixth straight away league win after beating Eccleshill United 3-1.

The win maintained their 100 per cent record away from home and kept them four points clear at the top of NCEL Division One.

An own goal and finishes from Jake park and Sam O’Malley secured the points for AFC Mansfield against a lively Eccleshill Utd side.

AFC welcomed back Jason White and Dean Rick to the starting side after they missed the 6-2 win at Bulwell in the County Cup in midweek.

The Bulls were dealt a blow in the warm up when centre half Joe Cheeseman sustained an injury and was replaced by Brad Wilson with Steve Sowter coming onto the bench.

Both sides adopted an attacking attitude and, on 14 minutes, Jake park saw his low drive come back off the post after a through ball from Dean Rick.

The roles were reversed 10 minutes later with Park teeing up Rick who fired narrowly over the bar from the edge of the box.

Jason White got down well at his right hand post to turn Joe Firth’s rasping drive on the half hour mark.

The opening goal came on 37 minutes when a peach of a ball from Danny Naylor found Craig Mitchell on the left hand side of the box.

The striker curled a cross to the far post which was turned past his own goalkeeper by Jermains Springer to open the scoring for AFC Mansfield.

The lead lasted just two minutes when a neat cross by Andy Cooper found Adam Turner in the box who headed past White to level the score.

The Bulls failed to convert three more chances before the break to take the lead.

The visitors came out in a more determined mood for the second half and Mitchell saw his effort turned around the post on 52 minutes.

AFC Mansfield were back in front three minutes later when Jake park lifted the ball over the advancing Stead from just outside the box.

Ryan Williams made his comeback from injury on 63 minutes and immediately AFC dominated possession.

Williams seemed to knit together the visitors approach play and it looked likely that The Bulls would score again.

Buxton hit his 20 yard drive wide on 65 minutes and Williams fired high and wide after a good ball from Mitchell.

New signings Danny Williams replaced Ghaichem on 85 minutes and, two minutes later Sam O’Malley replaced Park.

Both players had a big hand in the final goal with Danny sending Ryan Williams clear in the box with a sublime throughball.

Williams rounded the keeper but a defender managed to block his goal bound effort allowing Sam O’Malley to score a debut goal from three yards.
