Stags are statistically the best team in League Two since Clough took over and made it five EFL wins in a row on Saturday for the first time since 1991.

“The work-rate pleased us from the start and we knew there were some very good players in the team.
“We just had to turn draws into wins and the confidence goes from there.

“They are at the stage now where they are looking forward to every game that comes.”
But Clough remains keen to play down talk of a play-off push and insists Stags will just focus on racking up the points and seeing where it takes them.

“I don’t think it is a time to be making predictions, let’s just keep trying to win games and see where we go.”
Clough remains keen to bolster his squad in the final days of the transfer window with negotiations currently going on behind the scenes.
“We are working on things, inevitably it happens in the last week.
“We are delighted with the business we have one done so far, but we have still work to do this week.”
