New Mansfield Town scoreboard starts to go up

Mansfield Town today finally began to erect their new scoreboard on the former Quarry Lane terracing near to the North Stand corner.

Stags owner John Radford bought the 46ft x 16ft scoreboard from Wembley Stadium about a year ago, but installation has been delayed by planning red tape over the stability of its foundations on the old terraces.

Now the authorities are convinced it will stay upright, permission has been given to get the steelwork erected, though the club are putting no time on when the board will be in use.
