Matt Green rifled home his 15th goal of the season to put Stags ahead on six minutes.

The misses proved costly when Adam Champan doubled the home advantage on 57 minutes with a scorching free-kick.

Green added his second on the hour mark, before Reggie Lambe and Mitchell Rose completed the rout.

Murray said: “This was a massive and deserved win for us and is one of the biggest in our recent history.It’s great for the fans.

“It is a win that has been coming because our performance levels have been good. I have told the players to go out and enjoy this.

“Once we got a foothold in the game there was only one team in it. I asked for more energy and more tempo at half-time.

“The players did just that in the second half and we ran all over County. Our players have shown great desire to achieve today. They deserve great credit.”

County boss Mark Cooper slammed his players for letting the travelling fans down.

He said: “The game was probably too big for the majority of the team, they did not have the desire not to get beat and they caved in

“Some questions about players were answered for me today and some players need to go.

“That list keeps changing because players have let themselves down, they have had a real good following today and they have let the fans down.

“The players will be in tomorrow morning because they do not deserve any time off.

“This was embarrassing and not good enough.”
