Mansfield held a nervy 1-0 lead at half-time after Matt Green put Stags ahead with his 15th of the season on six minutes.

But four second half goals, including three goals in 11 minutes, ripped the heart out of Notts to secure a memorable double and the biggest win over County in the club’s history.

Murray said: “This was a massive and deserved win for us and is one of the biggest in our recent history.

“It was a big occasion today because of who were playing and the size of the crowd. “It is a win that has been coming because our performance levels have been good recently.

“We stuck to the process today and it is no surprise that when we stick to the process things like
