Stags have lost their last three games at Plymouth – in fact they have lost ten of the last 11 there, drawing just once.

Home and away they have not beaten Plymouth in their last seven encounters, losing the last five in a row.

You gave to go back 13 trips to Home Park to find the last win there, a quite astonishing 4-1 victory – one of Plymouth's biggest home defeats for year – on 9th September 1978.

But the season had few other highs like that as Billy Bingham's men finished 18th in Division Three.

Mansfield's last point at Plymouth came in this week's Memory Match as they drew 1-1 on Saturday, 1st February 2014.

In their first season back in the Football League after wining the Conference title, Stags had been stung 1-0 at home by a Neal Trotman goal three minutes into added time at the end.

Seeking revenge at Home Park, Mansfield were the better side and led through a Matt Rhead goal on 73 minutes.

But, unable to find the killer second goal, they were once again undone late on as Lewis Alessandra levelled in an agonising sixth added minute.

Stags were finally ahead on Plymouth when John Dempster found James Jennings on the left.

His cross was missed in the air by Lee Stevenson and a defender, and Rhead was perfectly placed to prod the loose ball under the keeper.

The Stags looked relatively comfortable after that and held on to the ball well in the closing minutes and well into the six minutes of added time.

But then Stevenson, who had enjoyed a decent game, gave the ball away on the halfway line, which gave Plymouth momentum to attack down the left.

The home side kept the ball in the final third, and even though the Stags were able to half-clear the ball a couple of times, it was played out to Thomas on the right.

Thomas tricked his way past substitute Beevers, Beevers going down and putting his shoulder out in the process, and the Argyle man slid the ball into Alessandra, who drilled a low shot past Marriott from 12 yards.

In a tight league, that worryingly left Mansfield just three points off the drop zone, having played a game more too.
