VIDEO: Thomas wins Chad Readers’ award in Stags trophy haul
The trophy was presented by Chad sports editor John Lomas.
Chad runner-up was Ritchie Sutton, who picked up the other three trophies on the day before being sent off in the first minute of the 2-1 home defeat.
Thomas also took home the Roy Palmer Memorial Shield as the Westfield Stags’ Player of the Year, the Emma Stamp Memorial Trophy for the most Man of the Match awards, presented by Michael, Philip and Matthew Stamp, and the Jack Retter Young Player of the Year Award, presented by Paul Taylor.

Hide AdSutton received the Shirebrook Stags’ Player of the Year, presented by Dave Townsend and Ian Baker, the Ollerton Stags Supporters’ Club Player of the Season, presented by Leanne Gravill, and the Stags Supporters’ Association Player of the Season, presented by SSA amber members Theresa Marriott Brown and Chris Marriott.
There was also a cheque presentation to the RSPCA, the fourth and final charity to benefit from the book, Stag Party – The Inside Story of Mansfield Town’s Return to the Football League.
Author Matt Halfpenny handed over £653.66 to the RSPCA, represented by Phil Harrison.
Two cheques totalling £2,000 from the FA Community Shield Fund were also presented to Fountaindale School by Mansfield Town directors Paul and Tina Broughton after Stags selected Fountaindale School as this year’s recipients. Erik Lovatt and Malk Hall accepted the cheques on behalf of the school.
