With match action under his belt, Marsden will be ready if called upon to help cover the right back role for injured skipper Nicky Hunt, who will be out for two months with an injured hamstring.

The 20-year-old Marsden was struggling for first team openings at Mansfield but has just completed a valuable month at the Vanarama National League side.

However, Mitch Rose did well in that right back role on Saturday as Stags ended a run of five games without a win or goal with a 3-1 home win over Hartlepool United and it is hard to see boss Adam Murray changing his side.

For the second game in a row, Murray again decided not to speak to the press ahead of the fixture.

Visitors Exeter City have had mixed results in recent weeks but will be cockahoop after their stunning 2-1 away win at league leaders Plymouth Argyle in Saturday’s local derby, Ryan Harley the hero with a brace.

It was only the Grecians’ second League win in eight outings.

They have fit-again winger David Wheeler in their ranks after he completed 90 minutes on Saturday.

Defenders Craig Woodman and Christian Ribeiro returned to training along with captain Matt Oakley and winger Lee Holmes last week.

Manager Paul Tisdale was forced to introduce Ribeiro earlier than intended on Saturday after an 11th minute injury to fellow defender Jamie McAllister.

Oakley was thrown into the action as a half-time substitute, however Holmes remained on the bench for the full 90 minutes whilst Woodman wasn’t included in the matchday 18.

Goalkeeper Christy Pym and forward Will Hoskins will almost certainly miss the trip to One Call Stadium with injury.

A late Alex Nicholls penalty earned Exeter a 3-2 win at One Call Stadium on their last visit in January.
