Two more out at Mansfield Town

Just a few days after Rakish Bingham was loaned out to Hartlepool United, fellow striker Ollie Palmer today joined Grimsby Town on a month’s loan, subject to clearance by the Football Association, Football League and Football Conference.

Also loanee goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov returned to parent club Nottingham Forest.

Palmer (22) has been utilised mostly as a substitute for the Stags this season and has joined the Mariners to gain valuable first team experience.
Grimsby sit in fourth position in the Vanarama Conference.

The loan deal includes the option for the Stags to recall Palmer to One Call Stadium with prior notice.

Boss Adam Murray told www.mansfieldtown.net: “Ollie has not really had a consistent run of games in the first team since he joined the club.

“This loan deal will allow him the opportunity to build up confidence and get into a goalscoring routine.

“We’re wheeling and dealing in this transfer window and an opportunity for players elsewhere opens up an opportunity for us to move things around here at this present time.”

Goalkeeper Evtimov (21) returned to Forest after the Reds indicated that the Bulgarian shot-stopper may be part of the their plans.

Evtimov made 10 starts in between the sticks for the Stags since making the switch from the City Ground in August last year.

Murray said: “Dimi has done himself no harm at all during the games in which he has played here.
“We attempted to extend his loan but unfortunately for us, Forest see him as part of their long-term plans.

“I’d like to thank Forest for allowing him to join us on loan and wish Dimi every success in his future career. This is an area which we are now looking to strengthen.”
