MANSFIELD Town striker Danny Mitchley, scorer of thr winning goal in the FA Trophy semi-final first leg just a few weeks ago, is being released by the Stags.
New manager Paul Cox has revealed that the 21-year-old forward is not in his plans for next season.
Mitchley, who made 17 appearances last season, is under contarct for next season but a statement on the club’s official website www.mansfieldtown.net revealed: “His details have been circulated to other clubs. We would like to thank him for his efforts.”
Mitchley scored two goals for the Stags, but new boss Cox has already brought in two new faces in his short time in charge - Lee Stevenson and Lindon Meikle - and will reveal his retained list on Tuesday.
Before Cox was appointed, former manager Duncan Russell oversaw the release of five players at the end of the season - Paul Stonehouse, Mark Preece, Kyle Nix, Tyrone Thompson and Niall O’Rafferty.
