FLYING Stags winger Lindon Meikle’s international dream has been dashed - at least for now.
The summer signing had been called upto the England C squad in midweek as a reward for his early season promise - and last season’s success in front of goal.
He was due to play for England against India at Dagenham at the start of September.
But late on Friday the FA confirmed that the match had been called off following the postponement of India/Pakistan’s UK tour.
The India v Pakistan games, due to take place in Derby and Glasgow next month, were organised independently with the international fixture at Pride Park receiving FA clearance to be staged in this country.
A spokesman for The FA commented: “The knock on effect of the tour cancellation means that we have no choice but to postpone the England C fixture at Dagenham & Redbridge.”
