Stags striker Duffy joins Grimsby

MANSFIELD Town striker Rob Duffy, whose days at Field Mill appeared numbered after a recent sending off saw him booed from the field by some Stags fans, on Friday joined BSBP rivals Grimsby Town.

The 28-year-old striker has agreed personal terms with the newly-relegated side and leaves the Stags following a productive two year spell.

The former Welsh U21 international was signed by former manager David Holdsworth in January 2009 from Newport County and memorably scored the winning goal on his debut against Crawley.

He has since bagged 31 goals in over 70 league appearances for the club and has just completed a three match suspension for that now infamous red card.
