MANSFIELD Town boss David Holdsworth has today signed attacking midfielder Jon Challinor on loan from Cambridge United.
Experienced Challinor (28), who has spent this season on loan at Forest Green Rovers, will join on a two month loan deal.
Challinor, who has also played for Exeter City and Rushden and Diamonds, could now make his debut at home to Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.
The transfer capture, which will be made permanent until the end of the season in January, follows hot on the heels of the Michael Brough loan deal as the Field Mill club look to bolster their goal threat from midfield.
Delighted Holdsworth said: "Jon comes here with a good reputation and is a good person.
"He will be a great addition to our squad. I feel we have developed a really good platform that gives us our success, but we are relying on two or three players to score our goals.
"It will be good to have another person to compliment our attacks. Challinor will have that knack of getting into the box and on the end of crosses when we get the ball out wide.
"He will benefit the club, he knows this level and has the ability to play at a higher level."
Challinor has made 269 first team starts and scored 59 goals during his nine year career.
