Stags appoint Paul Odgen as chief scout

MANSFIELD Town today confirmed the appointment of former Leek Town manager Paul Ogden as the club’s new chief scout.

The 64-year-old, who has recently scouted for Crewe Alexandra, will be responsible for seeking potential acquisitions as well as reporting on Stags’ next opponents.

Paul, who had six separate spells as manager at Leek along with spells as boss of Northwich and Witton Albion, told today: “I have known Paul Cox (the manager) for some time and recognised his abilities a number of years ago.

“The job he did at Eastwood was remarkable and his biggest strength is his work ethic as well as getting people to work well for him.”

“I felt a sense of pride when asked to fulfil this job at Mansfield,” he added.
