Rhead wins Chad Readers’ Stags Player of the Year in clean sweep

Mansfield Town striker Matt Rhead is pictured receiving his Chad Readers’ Stags Player of the Year trophy from Chad sports editor John Lomas on Saturday.

Rhead made a clean sweep of the player of the year trophies, but then spoiled his perfect day by getting sent off just before half-time in the 3-1 home defeat by Torquay.

Rhead was the clear winner of the Chad trophy with Ryan Tafazolli second and Adam Murray third.

He also walked away with the Ollerton Stags Player of the Season, the Stags Supporters’ Association Player of the Season and the Shirebrook Stags Player of the Season.

Sam Clucas won the Emma Stamp Memorial Trophy for the Most Man of the Match Awards for the season and Louis Briscoe won the club’s programme Quiz Champion trophy.
