ALFRETON Town will be looking to avenge a 6-1 Blue Square Bet Premier Division home defeat by Forest Green Rovers earlier in the season when they travel to the New Lawn on Saturday.
The first fixture between the two sides this season was in the third game of the campaign back on Saturday, 20th August, but, against a Rovers side seeking their first win of the season, several Alfreton defensive errors were punished to the full.
Forest Green were aided by the fact that Alfreton conceded three of the goals in the dying embers of a game they finished with 10 men as Anthony Wilson broke his left foot and had to be taken off on 68 minutes, just 13 minutes after coming on, and the Reds had already used all three substitutes as they chased the game.
Theo Streete got the Alfreton goal on 13 minutes which levelled a fourth-minute opener by Jamie Turley for Rovers.
Charlie Griffin put Forest Green ahead again on 19 before Reece Styche added a third three minutes later. Styche got his second of the game but not until the 76th minute after which Theo Streete unfortunately put through his own goal on 90+4 which was followed by an even later strike by Yan Klukowski on 90+5.
For the return game at the New Lawn in Gloucestershire this Saturday, the Reds will be buoyed by the 2-1 midweek FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay success at Lincoln City.
Alfreton manager Nicky Law will be without central defender Leigh Franks who damaged a hamstring in the midweek FA Cup win at Lincoln City and will be out for a minimum of two weeks.
Midfield player Jake Moult also sits the game out due to a one-game suspension for being sent off for two cautionable offences at Lincoln.
Also missing will be Matt Wilson, Connor Franklin and Adie Hawes all through injury, Wilson and Franklin with ankle ligament damage and Hawes with an infected knee.
However, Law is expecting to have the welcome boost of having striker Nathan Arnold fit and available for the first time since he broke a fifth metatarsal in his left foot way back on 23rd August and defender Luke Potter will also return after missing the midweek game with a minor knee injury.
Squad from: Lowson, Day, Law, Hall, Potter, Young, Streete, Brown, Mullan, Mackin, Stevenson, Senior, Clayton, Anthony Wilson, Jarman, Arnold, Ellison, Turner.
