Ahead of the tie, the struggling Latics’ newly-appointed boss said: “Let’s not kid ourselves, it’s going to be a tough game and a typical FA Cup tie.

“We will need to win our individual battles all over the pitch. They will be aggressive and a high-tempo team, certainly from the games we have watched them in.

“It will be tough and we will have to go there and stand up and be counted. We need to win the battle and the middle of the park.

“If you have a mindset every game of making sure you work harder than the opposition, all the other things will take care of themselves.

“I have come from the top level and there is no difference there, either. There are top players in the Premier League but they all have that mindset, that’s a fact.”

Skipper Liam Kelly misses the game through suspension and Dunn added: “Liam Kelly is a miss for us every time he doesn’t play if I’m being honest.

“We will miss the captain for sure and he will miss it too. He loves these types of games where it’s about rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in. That’s what he is about.”
