“The boys will be put through their paces, but it will also be about team spirit and team ethic, putting everyone into the same environment and making them make friends.

“There will be a few things introduced that are a bit outside the box. There will be a lot of exercises that involve team building and team structure and, obviously, there will be a massive fitness element to it.

“There will also be a big technical, tactical part as we are introducing a new philosophy and a new style of play. It will be a new culture to the club so we need to get the work in as soon as possible.”

He added: “The feeling around the club at the minute is very exciting. There is an anticipation and we want to make sure we get every little detail into the boys as quickly as we can.

“With such a good young group of players coming in, we don’t want to block any alleyways up by bringing players in we don’t feel can affect it. We feel that the balance is right to help the youngsters grow.”
