Stags skipper Adam Murray is looking forward to forging a formidable central midfield partnership with new boy Gary Roberts.
The pair played for the first time together at York on Sunday and Murray said: “From what I’ve seen of Gary, he is a very good player.
“He is clever and can see a pass, but he can also do the other side of the game which is good for me.
“To be honest I am hoping he will let me get forward a bit more.
“First I have got to keep my place in the side to play alongside him.
“I have been sitting deep this season so it would be nice if I could get out of the centre circle!
“I am hoping we can take it in turns to get forward. I like to get forward and make things happen and it would be nice to get a few goals.”
