Mansfield Town’s Sandy Pate Sports Bar is the perfect place for your pre-match build-up

A new restaurant is aiming to change how football fans in Mansfield build up to the big game.

The Sandy Pate Sports Bar at Mansfield Town’s One Call Stadium is now open for business and gives the club’s fans the chance to enjoy their pre-match burger and pint, while also giving valuable money back to the club.

The impressively-furnished bar, which features iconic images of the club’s most famous moments dotted around the walls,, provides a wide range of traditional pub food from burgers, chips, pies, sausage and mash, Sunday dinners and a number of mouth-wsatering puddings.

During my visit the pull of a bacon cheeseburger and chips once again proved too much for me to resist.

This was followed by a chunky slab of apple pie and custard, all of which left me unable to move with the athleticism of the Stags stars as I waddled back to my car suitably satisified.

Throughout my meal I watched the build up to the Man City v Spurs game later that day.

And that option, without a doubt, is the beauty of this sports bar and gives fans the perfect opportunity to feast on good food at a quality price (my burger and chips weighed in at an impressive £6.45) whilst also watching the early Premier League game ahead of kick off at the One Call Stadium.

Another impressive feature is how fans can head to the bar and listen to full match commentary of all away games via StagsPlayer and also watch other scores coming in around the country on Soccer Saturday, which is played on the big screens. And all this while being able to chew the fat over Mansfield Town with fellow fans.

I must admit I didn’t really know what to expect ahead of my visit but, as well as leaving with a very full stomach, I left with feeling impressed. The Sandy Pate Sports Bar is, without doubt, the best place for any fan of the club to build up to the big day.
