Mansfield Town will create more chances and score more goals this season.
That is the promise of attacking midfielder Fergus Bell, who believes Stags now have the extra attacking dimension needed to beat last season’s tally of just 49 goals in 46 league games.
Bell says the addition of his former Monza team-mate Alex Fisher and goal-getter Liam Hearn will dramatically help to transform Mansfield’s failing attack.
“I hope the fans can see how well me and Fish play together,” he said. “We have an excellent understanding on the pitch and I know what run he is going to make and when he is going to make it.
“He is a really good striker and will get goals at this club. We have got some good strikers at the club. Hearn is looking very lively at the moment and Rheady and Ollie Palmer give us different options.
“Hopefully I can also get a few goals playing just behind the strikers.
“We have got a smaller squad this season, but we have got a lot of quality. There will be more flexibility in the team this season.
“There will be much more emphasis on the top three creating chances and to entertain the fans this season.”
Mansfield will be without the suspended Matt Rhead for the season opener against Northampton Town following his red card against Torquay last season.
