Mansfield Town’s players will report back for pre-season training on June 29th and are expected to be in almost peak physical condition.
“Things have moved on from when I played where, for me, pre-season was all about getting a stone off in weight and going on holiday three times,” smiled assistant manager Paul Raynor.
“It’s totally different now. These guys are properly professional athletes. They’ve got a fitness programme to work to.
“They have to log into a site every day to make sure they’ve done their work.
“They all got their heart rate monitors so we can know exactly what they are doing and when they are doing it on any given day.
“The intention is they all come back ready to go in pre-season on 29th June in near enough peak condition.”
