Unbeaten Mansfield Town return to the Moss Rose ground on Saturday for the first time since November 2012, when they coasted to a 3-0 win over Macclesfield Town.
Indeed, the Stags have also been unbeaten up there in their last four trips, winning two and drawing two.
The last defeat at Macclesfield came back in April 2005, but it’s a relatively happy hunting ground, Mansfield only losing four of their 11 visits there.
Macclesfield ran away with the Conference title last season to make a return to the Football League and renew rivalries with the Stags this season, though are winless so far.
The clubs have fought out some titanic battles down the years – the highlight being a 4-4 draw at the One Call Stadium in August 2000.
But for our Memory Match this week we rewind to this same August Bank Holiday weekend in 2001 when Stags won 4-0 at home against the Silkmen.
Craig Disley scored a brace for the second game in a row and should have ended with a hat-trick and the match ball only to see his late penalty kick saved.
But the game was well over by then as Chris Greenacre (pictured) and Andy White also got themselves on the scoresheet as Stags made a great start to a season in which they were destined to go on and gain promotion to Nationwide League Division Two.
