Mansfield Town sign Motherwell winger Nathan Thomas
The 20-year-old, who hails from North Yorkshire, made two appearances for ex-Stag Ian Baraclough’s team in 2014/15 after joining them on a free transfer midway through the season.
A graduate of Sunderland’s youth set-up, Thomas spent time at Darlington 1883 in the early days of his career, before penning a move to Plymouth Argyle – for whom he turned out on 24 occasions.

On his signing for the club, Thomas said: “Adam Murray sold the club really well to me with the style of football he wants to play and where he wants to take the club.
“I think he wants a youthful approach this season, with loads of energy, playing with wide men and playing football by passing the ball and playing it through the sections of the pitch – it’s how I was
brought up to play football, the proper way.”
Manager Murray said: “Nathan is somebody who was with us for a month at the end of last season (on trial).

“As a person he is hungry and has a point to prove. He knows that he has to maximise his potential and we will help him to do this.
“It’s an opportunity for Nathan and with hard work and the right attitude I believe he can be special.”
