ATTACKING midfielder Anthony Howell has turned down a new contract with newly-promoted Alfreton Town to join Mansfield Town on a one year deal.
The 25 year-old was a key figure in The Reds’ title-winning campaign to the Blue Square Bet Premier last term and netted 14 goals during his first season at the Impact Arena.
The versatile midfielder is now in his second stint at Field Mill having previously signed in January 2009.
The 6” 2’ Nottingham-based midfielder said: “It’s unfinished business as far as I’m concerned and I’m very glad to be back.
“My aims are to train hard, cement a place in the team and to be in the top five for most of the season.”
Manager Paul Cox added: “If I’m honest, Anthony was probably Alfreton’s best player last year. “He has matured into a good player who is highly thought of in non-league circles. “Anthony will give us power, pace, and will add energy to our team.”
